Kroger Anchored Project Proposed Near Lindbergh City Center

The plans call for an 80,000 sq. ft. Kroger to be the centerpiece of a development across from Lindbergh City Center and the MARTA station.

An Atlanta-based developer wants to build a mixed-use project anchored by a big box grocery store on a 100 acre site next to the Lindbergh City Center and Lindbergh Center MARTA station in Buckhead.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle Reports that Jeff Fuqua and Fuqua Development has proposed a plan to redevelop dilapidated apartments at the block surrounded by Piedmont Road and Morogoso and Lindbergh drives with a project anchored by an 80,000 sq. ft Kroger. Fuqua’s plans also call for the potential addition of senior living homes on the site.

Back in 2012, Fuqua wanted to build a Walmart on the site to anchor a different development, but met with resistance from neighborhood leaders who felt the plans were too β€œsuburban” for the area. Lindbergh City Center is among the first transit-oriented projects in the city.
