Major Buckhead Development Downsized

Coro Realty is scaling back on a project at the intersection of Peachtree and Piedmont roads, in the heart of Buckhead.

ATLANTA, GA β€” A major project in the heart of Buckhead is being scaled back.

Coro Realty Advisors had planned a multi-use development at the intersection of Piedmont and Peachtree roads, according to Buckhead View. Plans originally called for 40,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space, an apartment complex and a hotel.

Now, only the hotel is moving forward, according to company president John Lundeen, who did not offer a reason why the rest of the project has stalled.

The hotel is planned to include 186 rooms. A total of 190 apartments was in the works.

When the project was announced last year, Curbed Atlanta said it triggered excitement and concern about already-overcrowded streets and neighborhoods.
