🌱 Man Jumps From Buckhead Parking Deck + Second Chance Startups

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Buckhead.

Good morning, neighbors! I'm back with your fresh edition of the Buckhead Daily. Let's get this Saturday started off right, with a quick review of everything you need to know about what's happening these days in town.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 90 Low: 71.

Here are the top three stories today in Buckhead:

  1. A suspect is hospitalized after jumping six stories off a Buckhead parking deck. Around 3 a.m. yesterday, three men were spotted breaking into the parking deck at the Icon Buckhead Apartments. When police began chasing them, one teen jumped from the sixth-floor parking deck, falling about 50 feet and landing on the sidewalk. None of the suspects' identities were revealed as of Friday evening. (Buckhead Patch)
  2. A Buckhead restaurateur offers local convicted felons a second chance through a Shark Tank-esque investment. Chad Dillon, owner of The Boiler Seafood & Crab Boil, partnered with the Atlanta Reentry Prison to teach a group of inmates valuable business and life skills. The participants created and pitched their own business startups to Dillon, who awarded each $1,000 to $2,000 to go toward the new businesses upon release. (CBS 46 News)
  3. A traffic stop on Highway 400 turned into a multi-agency drug investigation that spanned across the Atlanta metro. When a Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy pulled over a car on suspicion of DUI, investigators found 70 pounds of methamphetamine in the trunk. Authorities then found a warehouse in Alpharetta and an apartment in Buckhead where they seized fentanyl, heroin, and other drugs. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
