Mayor Reed: State Senator is 'Disappointing Human Being'
The mayor made his controversial comments on state Sen. Vincent Fort in front of the Atlanta Press Club on Thursday.
ATLANTA, GA -- Mayor Kasim Reed called state Sen. Vincent Fort (D-Atlanta) “one of the most disappointing human beings I’ve ever met” during Thursday’s meeting of the Atlanta Press Club.
Reed was asked about Fort’s criticism of PARK Atlanta’s practices throughout the city is politically motivated, and that Fort hopes to become mayor one day, reports Channel 2 Action News.
“I guarantee you, Vincent Fort will never become mayor,” Reed said.

Fort responded later to Channel 2 Action News.
“It was surprising to me the mayor would engage in such coarse language,” he said. “Most citizens and visitors to the city know that PARK Atlanta is an abusive and predatory parking enforcement company.”

Fort has said that parking enforcement should be the responsibility of the government, and he also wants to put the Atlanta Streetcar under MARTA management.
Fort declined to say whether he will run for mayor, but that Mayor Reed seems more concerned about it than he is.
