Merrill Lynch's Bert Ponder Awarded 2018 Greater Good Award

Bert Ponder, partner at Ponder Jowers & Associates, and a managing director at Merrill Lynch’s Atlanta offices in Buckhead, is the 2018 recipient of the Greater Good Award from the Georgia Planned Giving Council.

Established in 2005, the award recognizes exemplary service by Georgia’s charitable advisors. Ponder’s professional specialties include asset management, credit and lending, trust and estate planning and philanthropic strategies, and he has worked at Merrill Lynch for 35 years.

"I am extremely grateful for the award. I’ve been fortunate to have had a few great mentors who’ve inspired and fueled my passion for philanthropy. It’s truly a privilege to be in a position to enable devoted leaders of smaller charities into fulfilling the dreams of communities they serve. Educating and helping clients develop their individual charitable plans is a big part of our team’s mission, and I’m honored to receive this acknowledgement of our philanthropic efforts," said Ponder.

He is a member of the Fugees Academy Board of Directors; Executives for Egleston/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta; Washington & Lee Atlanta Alumni Board and Chairman of the Annual Fund; Boy Scouts of America; Atlanta Junior Golf Association; and The First Tee at East Lake.
