Nature Conservancy Earth Day Gala Is April 13

"The Hoochie: Picnic for the Planet" will be at Tophat Soccer Fields

The Nature Conservancy in Georgia will hold its 18th annual Earth Day gala on Friday, April 13, according to a news release.

The Hoochie: Picnic For the Planet will be from 7 p.m. to midnight at Soccer Fields in Buckhead, according to the announcement. Presented by Cox Enterprises, the outdoor celebration will include live music, a birds of prey flight show and sustainable gourmet cuisine.

Over nearly two decades, the Hoochie has raised more than $3 million for he Nature Conservancy and its work to protect Georgia’s woods, waters and coast. Patron opportunities are available, and single tickets can be purchased for $125 each at nature.org/hoochie.

The event will feature a sustainable menu by Epting Events, including free-range chicken from White Oak Pastures, sustainably harvested oysters and clams from partner Philips Sea Food and pecans from the Flint River basin, where the conservancy is working with local farmers to implement efficient irrigation technology.
