The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Buckhead.
Welcome back, Buckhead! I'm here in your inbox per usual to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on in town.
First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 89 Low: 73.
Here are the top three stories in Buckhead today:
- The Buckhead Coalition and Community Improvement District are pushing the Buckhead Security Plan to address nightlife nuisances. The plan specifically addresses bars and restaurants that ignore noise regulation and alcohol permit requirements. Jim Durrett, president of the coalition and executive director of Buckhead CID, stresses the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to maintain infrastructure and support all residents. Durrett hopes the plan will minimize noise, traffic, and violence. (SaportaReport)
- Drought relief may be incoming from weekend rain in north Georgia. The stormy weekend may have caused some isolated flooding, but it can also address the moderate to severe drought spread reported Thursday. The worst drought areas, around Northern Georgia, saw some significant rainfall during the storms. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Fares Kargar, who left Iran at seventeen, is bringing his Persian restaurant, Delbar, to Buckhead. Kargar explains the name "Delbar" translates to "heart, captured" and is an ode to the food of his childhood as well as the women who cared for him. The first Delbar can be found and sampled in Inman Park. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
