One lane of Interstate 75 was temporarily blocked off on Wednesday afternoon so a HERO unit could safely remove a man riding a horse from the busy roadway.

According to the Georgia DOT, the hero unit operator made contact with the rider near the Downtown Connector at approximately 2:21 p.m. The man also had a pack horse in tow. The man and his traveling companions were asked to leave the interstate, and exited at University Avenue.

WSB-TV posted a short interview with the man, who said his ride was meant to “spread the good word that we have enough money to feed every starving child in the world.” The station added that the “Long Rider” is hoping to make it to Indiana before his sister’s birthday in June.
