Flowers, hearts, candy and cookies sold to help Warrior baseball team
Valentine's Day and school spirit made a perfect blend Monday at in Buckhead.
Before school, moms of players on the school's baseball team sold Valentine's flowers, balloons, candy and cookies to raise money. Students coming to school bought the roses and sweets for their Moms, favorite teachers, and, of course, sweethearts. The fund-raiser was to resume at lunchtime.
"The state doesn't provide much funding for athletics anymore, so we have to raise our own money," said Angelia Melcher, a team mom.
