Park Proposed Near Buckhead MARTA Station

The proposal calls for a nine-acre park to be built above Ga. 400, but nobody's sure who owns the sky above the roadway.

The Buckhead MARTA station may soon have some above-ground greenspace for residents and commuters to enjoy, as long as officials can determine who owns the sky over the area.

Curbed Atlanta reports that the Buckhead Community Improvement District (CID) has put $10,000 towards a feasibility study on plans to build a 9-acre park above Ga. 400 and the mass transit station. The study would need around $50,000 to be fully funded, Curbed says.

According to Curbed, nobody’s really quite sure who owns the sky above Ga. 400, but CID members have discussed the plan with MARTA.
