PATH Spur Trail Completed in Buckhead
Pedestrians and cyclists can now access Northside Drive from the Northside Trail.

PATH has announced the completion of a 1/3 mile long spur of the Northside Trail which will connect the trail to the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center and Northside Drive.

The Northside Spur Trail is envisioned to eventually connect Peachtree Battle Road to the trail, PATH says on its website. The connection to the tennis center and Northside Drive is the first phase of the spur project.
The Bitsy Grant Tennis Center was built in 1952 and is named after Bryan βBitsyβ Grant, the most prominent southern tennis player of his era. Grant twice made the quarterfinals at Wimbeldon and made the semifinals of the U.S. Open in 1935.

In other PATH news, Livable Buckhead is helping lay out the design for a park that will be erected alongside a portion of the PATH400 trail on Old Ivy Road, BuckheadView says. The visioning process for the land at 519 Old Ivy Road will run until October, when a concept plan will be ready for release.
