Peachtree Creek Cleanup Needs Volunteers
The event will take place next weekend; last year, volunteers removed more than two tons of debris from the south Buckhead creek.

Local preservation organizations are looking for a few good men and women to help them clean out some of the crud that has accumulated in and around Peachtree Creek over the years.
According to BuckheadView, the Second Annual Peachtree Creek Cleanup Day will be held on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will be busy removing old tires and other discarded items from the section of the creek behind E Rivers Elementary School; last year, volunteers removed 2.3 tons of junk from the vicinity of the Bobby Jones Golf Club.
Volunteers should wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and water boots for those who feel up to getting in the creek itself. Children as young as 8 can participate with their families, BuckheadView said.
