UPDATE: Suspicious Package in Buckhead Not A Threat

UPDATE (9:37 p.m.): The Atlanta Police Department has determined that a suspicious package found at a BP gas station on Piedmont Road in Buckhead is not threatening.

“We are about to clear,” APD Officer John Chafee told Patch.

ORIGINAL STORY (9:16 p.m.): The Atlanta Police Department is at the BP gas station at Piedmont and Pharr roads in Buckhead investigating reports of a suspicious package, a police spokesman told Patch.

Officer John Chafee said that Piedmont Road has been closed in the vicinity of the gas station.

FOX 5 Atlanta first reported about the situation through a tweet just before 9 p.m. Monday.
