The Present Day Ruth Stage Play Graces the Stage at the Riverside EpiCenter

Austell, GA-November 20, 2015-Playwright Anastasia Means-Dallas brings the gospel stage play, The Present Day Ruth, to the main stage at the Riverside EpiCenter. Means-Dallas has skillfully crafted a gospel play complete with singing, dancing, and acting. After two successful years at the 14th Street Playhouse, The Present Day Ruth is gracing the stage at the Riverside EpiCenter . Back by popular demand for the third year in a row, the play will be featured at the Riverside EpiCenter on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
The Present Day Ruth centers on Ruth and Boaz, (Bo), as they work diligently to set a positive example for their nieces, Grace and Faith, while their mother Nia is incarcerated. Meanwhile, Ruth’s sister, Tia, is influencing the girls negatively due to her adulterous and boisterous ways, while Naomi attempts to maintain and atmosphere of transparency and harmony. “This play deals with teenage pregnancy, infidelity, low self-esteem, and family secrets. “These are real issues that continue to plague some families even after they have developed a relationship with God,” says Anastasia Means-Dallas. The Present Day Ruth gives people an opportunity to witness forgiveness and redemption in the lives of the characters. Through a series of unfortunate events and family secrets revealed, a powerful message emerges: God’s grace is sufficient for all areas of weakness.
With two published books under her belt, Anastasia set out, without any formal training, to reignite her passion for plays. Yet, at 18, she had already produced her first play, “Better Than Blessed” for her local church. Thirty years later, a passion that once was dormant, resurfaced, and thus, The Present Day Ruth emerged.”
Today, books, plays, and dreams are what have continued to save and catapult this creative force from obscurity to success as a playwright, author, educator, and speaker, who was once depressed, divorced, and homeless. Through prayer, and releasing her faith in the promises of God, Anastasia is sure to take the world by storm with her future projects. She plans to continue to write plays that take biblical stories, and turn them into modern day stories, while continuing to sow seeds into organizations that are geared toward helping single mothers and children.
