Project Healing Waters Aids Vets
Project Healing Waters expands into 10-county area of greater Atlanta.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.β’ is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities, including education and outings. Although PHWFF has been in Atlanta for the past 10 years working exclusively with the SHARE Military Initiative, which is part of the Shepherd Center, it is now time to expand the program into the 10-county area of greater Atlanta.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing of Atlanta recently had an Open House to celebrate the new expansion program for disabled veterans. Over 43 veterans and 21 volunteers came together for hot dogs and interactive demonstrations of tying flies, building fly rods, and fly casting.
Program administrators and volunteers (many of whom are veterans) say they believe that Fly Tying, Rod Building, Fly Casting and Fly Fishing have healing benefits that support the mind, body and soul.
