Racial Bias Trial Involving Buckhead Restaurant Opens

Opening arguments began Monday afternoon in a federal civil trial involving a Buckhead restaurant accused of racial bias against a former NBA all-star, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Former basketball player Joe Barry Carroll and attorney Joseph Shaw say the violated their civil rights, claiming they were ejected from the restaurant because they're black and wouldn't give up their seats to two white women, the newspaper said.
