A member of an R&B group is behind bars at the Fulton County jail after Atlanta police say he severely beat his fiancee during an argument.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police were called to the 200 block of Peters Street in the Castleberry Hills area at 5 a.m. on Thursday in response to a violent argument between Kyle L. Norman of Jagged Edge and his fiancee.

A police report acquired by the AJC quotes the fiancee as saying that the argument arose over drinking, and that Norman soon became enraged and attacked her. The fiancee told police that Norman strangled her with a scarf, punched her, shoved her engagement ring down her throat, and threatened her life.
The fiancee began agreeing with whatever Norman said in an effort to calm him down, but managed to grab Normanβs cell phone and run to a neighborβs house when he had walked away for a moment, according to the report.

Officers encountered Norman running on a nearby sidewalk, and told police that he needed to go to jail for what he had done, the report said. The musician claimed that the stress of his fatherβs cancer had caused him to snap and attack his fiance.
Fulton County jail records show that Norman is facing charges of aggravated assault and a bench warrant for criminal trespassing which carries a $1,000 surety bond.
