Reminder: Food Trucks Returning to Buckhead Next Weekend
The event is sponsored by Livable Buckhead and is meant to get residents walking and talking with their neighbors.

Buckhead will soon play host to a brand-new season of Food Truck Fridays which will mesh great food, Buckhead’s burgeoning walkability, and the area’s bustling social scene.

The inaugural event of the season will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 8 in the Rooms to Go parking lot at 3256 Peachtree Road and will feature between four and six food trucks. Livable Buckhead, organizing the event, plans to bring games and tents out to the inaugural event. If the event is successful, Livable Buckhead plans to host future food truck events on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to bring in live music and bounce houses for the kids.
Jim Shumake of the Atlanta Food Truck Coalition told Patch that Livable Buckhead wants to emulate similarly successful food truck events in Smyrna, Roswell, and other metro neighborhoods. Livable Buckhead also wants to promote pedestrian and social activity in the area, encouraging nearby residents to walk over to the event and mix and mingle with neighbors they may not normally interact with.

“There’s no center meeting space in Buckhead,” Shumake said, “so the event is designed to bring communities and food together.”
