Rick Perry to Kick Off Ga. Campaign

Republican presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry will kick off his campaign in Georgia with a luncheon Sept. 30 in Buckhead.

The luncheon, which will cost $1,000 per person, will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at , 103 W. Paces Ferry Road, according to the invitation from the Georgia Host Committee.

Polls show Perry leading the race for the GOP nomination, ahead of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

A VIP reception and "photo op" will be from noon until 12:30 p.m., at a cost of $5,000 per couple or $2,500 per person.

Atlanta Journal-Constitutiion political insider Jim Galloway says in his blog that Georgia Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Agriculature Secretary Gary Black are supporting Perry.
