📰 Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:

1. The Georgia Senate just killed Buckhead's effort to leave Atlanta. Ten Republicans broke ranks and voted with Democratic senators on Thursday to reject the Buckhead Bill, questioning the legality and workability of "jerking out the heart of Atlanta [Buckhead]." For years, conservative Georgians have been pushing for a Buckhead City, citing the inadequacy of Atlanta's Democratic electees against crime as apt grounds for secession. "Constitutionally, it's not possible to divide the city of Atlanta, with its schools, with its debt obligations," said Sen. Jason Esteves (D) who represents part of Buckhead. Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, was wary of the bill's legality and practicality. (U.S. News and World Report)

2. Georgia's Legal Food Frenzy is returned for a twelfth year — registration now open! The Frenzy is annual two-week fundraising event for Georgia-based legal professionals headed by the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). This year, ACFB hopes to raise $700,000 in relief funds, equivalent to 2,800,000 meals to be distributed among Georgia seniors, children, and families in need. Thee Frenzy kicks off on April 17 and registration is open now — those who register before April 1 will receive 100 bonus points. "With lines continuing to grow at our food banks, the need to assist our neighbors persists," said Kyle Waide, president and CEO of ACFB. He hopes this year will be another success. 3. Buckhead makes an appearance in "Creed III," starring Jonathan Majors and Michael B. Jordan. Though most of the movie was filmed in Los Angeles, there is a key scene shot in the now-shuttered Buckhead Diner, as well as a "and a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Atlanta skyline shot from the 17th Street bridge," according to Atlanta Magazine. Also, for the movie's finale, filmmakers recreated Dodger Stadium with CGI in a Georgia studio! At the link, read more from an exclusive interview with starring duo Majors and Jordan.
