UPDATE: No Arrests Yet in Lenox Square Mall Shots Fired Incident

UPDATE (6:08 p.m.): Atlanta police have not yet arrested a suspect in the shots fired incident which occurred outside the Neiman Marcus store at Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead Thursday afternoon.

FOX 5 Atlanta has reported that a man who was seen in handcuffs and undergoing police questioning has since been released from custody.

WSB-TV reports that following a dispute, three men were getting back into a silver Chevrolet car when a fourth person opened fire on it. The four people involved fled the area and are being sought by police.

FOX 5 reports that roads and stores inside Lenox Square Mall are operating as normal, but the two exterior entrances to Neiman Marcus have been roped off by police.

Police confirmed that nobody had been injured as a result of the gunshots.

UPDATE (5:18 p.m.): Atlanta police have confirmed they are working a shooting incident which occurred in the parking lot of Lenox Square Mall on Thursday afternoon.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, witnesses told them that shots were fired outside Neiman Marcus. Atlanta police have since blocked off the entrance to Nieman Marcus and are investigating the area. The mall is not currently on lockdown, FOX 5 reports.

Police have taken one person is in custody at the mall, but it is not certain if the person is the shooter. An unconfirmed witness statement claims that the gunman fired five shots.

A tweet by @SassyShortcakeB contains a picture which appears to show a silver Chevrolet car with a bullet hole in the passenger side door.

“Shots fired in parking lot of #lenox mall. Shooter then ran inside,” the tweet reads. Patch cannot independently confirm the accuracy of the narrative.

ORIGINAL STORY (4:52 p.m.): Atlanta police are in Buckhead investigating a report of shots fired near Lenox Square Mall.

Spokesman John Chafee tells Patch that no injuries have been reported at this time, but he is continuing to gather information on the situation and will provide updates when more information becomes available.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that police vehicles can be seen parked outside the Neiman Marcus store located in Lenox Mall.
