Simple Traffic Stop Turns Into Seizure of Coke, Meth, Marijuana

ATLANTA, GA -- A Wednesday afternoon traffic stop in Buckhead for a simple infraction turned into a drug bust.

Two officers in Buckhead’s Zone 2 noticed a Dodge Charger with an improper tag. The officers got behind the vehicle, and attempted to pull it over. However, they became concerned, when the driver took a suspiciously long time to do so.

When the driver finally pulled over, the officers approached the vehicle and, once at the car’s window, they got a strong smell of raw marijuana. They detained the driver, and called a K-9 unit to the scene.

Inside the vehicle officers located cocaine, crystal meth, Xanax pills, marijuana, scales, baggies, and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.

The driver also was a convicted felon for armed robbery.
