Slow Food Atlanta welcomes guests to cool down on Saturday, June 7, at its eighth annual Ice Cream Social at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market. From 12:15 to 2 p.m., guests are invited to taste a delicious and impressive variety of homemade ice creams and sorbets created by ambitious amateurs, renowned local chefs, and restaurants. After tasting the frozen treats, market goers will cast a vote for their favorite "cream of the crop" ice cream flavor. This year, there will be an award for tastiest vegetable-flavored ice cream. Guests are encouraged to bring their own spoon. Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social will benefit the Atlanta Chapter of Slow Food International and the Peachtree Road Farmers Market.
Tickets, which include a taste of each flavor and a ballot, are $15 for adults, $5 for children age five to ten and free for children under five. Tickets may be purchased online at
www.brownpapertickets.com/event/633683 or at the door on Saturday, June 7, until the event sells out.
