Three Teenage Sisters Present Check to Breast Cancer Nonprofit
Lauren, Sam & Emilie Scalise led the 3rd Annual Strides for Survivors walk and raised $9,700 for TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

On Friday, May 17, the Scalise sisters: Emilie, Samantha, and Lauren presented a check for $9,700 to the Board of Directors of TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation at their meeting in Sandy Springs. The girls raised these funds at the 3rd Annual Strides fo Survivors, a 2.2 walk held Saturday, February 2, around Chastain Park. Despite the fact the walk was held over Super Bowl weekend, 175 people turned out and overall the Scalise sisters consider this year's event the most successful of the three.
In the three years since the girls have organized this event, more than $26,000 has been raised for TurningPoint, a unique nonprofit in the local breast cancer space. It was their mother Stephanie, a breast cancer survivor and former TurningPoint patient, who inspired the girls to launch this event. TurningPoint, founded in 2003, is the only organization of its kind in metro Atlanta with a mission to improve the quality of life for patients with breast cancer by providing, promoting and advocating specialized and evidence-based rehabilitation. Stephanie attributed her experience at TurningPoint as one of the most important aspects of her recovery.
The 4th Annual Strides for Survivors will be held February 1, 2020. For more information about supporting the event as a walker, corporate sponsor or raffle item donor, please visit https://www.stridesforsurvivors.org/
