TMA Georgia Announce Winners of 2013 Turnaround of the Year Awards

The Turnaround Management Association’s Georgia chapter (TMA Georgia) is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Turnaround of the Year Awards. This announcement was made by Greg Charleston, senior managing director of Conway MacKenzie Inc. and TMA Georgia’s president-elect.

TMA defines a turnaround as more than adjusting a balance sheet. When corporate value is on the line, jobs are at stake and time is the enemy, turnaround professionals step in to establish effective operations, implement solid management, improve cash flow and increase production, in addition to the countless other factors that contribute to the triumphant recovery of a struggling company.

Because TMA understands that each turnaround is unique, it has created distinct categories to recognize outstanding turnarounds. The awards are presented to the individual who, together with a team of turnaround professionals, has orchestrated the most successful turnaround. The recipients are:

·        King & Spalding LLP: Paul K. Ferdinands, W. Austin Jowers, Annie Carroll, Jeff Dutson, and Sarah Borders

·        Lazard Middle Market:  Andrew Torgove, Jeffrey Horowitz

“All of these winners deserve this recognition for performing outstanding turnaround work,” stated Charleston. “We are looking forward to learning, at the fall TMA Georgia luncheon, how each of the winning turnaround projects were successfully completed. Our chapter prides itself on professional development as well as sharing best practices.” 

This year’s TMA Georgia Turnaround of the Year committee included Chair Deby Glidden of Core Point Partners, and Kit Weitnauer of Alston & Bird and Jennifer Meyerowitz of Epiq Systems.
