Toys “R” Us, which has been a pillar of the development since 1996, is closing up shop on Sept. 6, according to WhatNowAtlanta. With less than a month left in the store’s life, a liquidation sale is in progress; discounts from 10 to 40 percent are being offered on all store items.
A store employee told the news outlet that high rent was driving the toy store out of the shopping center, but competition from online retailers has forced Toys “R” Us to cut back its brick-and-mortar operations, WhatNowAtlanta said.
