Trio Convicted of 2012 Atlanta Armed Robbery Wich Led to Death of 19-Year-Old
Each of the three defendants has been given a sentence of life in prison without parole for killing one man and wounding two others.

Three men who were involved in a 2012 armed robbery gone wrong in southwest Atlanta have been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of one of their victims and the wounding of two others, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Robert Harris, 22; Marcus Battle, 20; and Jacobey Carter, 26, were all convicted of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses by a Fulton County jury late Monday evening. Fulton County Senior Judge Stephanie Manis sentenced each man to serve the remainder of his life in prison, with no chance of parole.
On Sept. 7, 2012, the three men got out of a vehicle parked outside a home on Erin Avenue and approached a group of people standing in the driveway of the home. The defendants, all wearing t-shirts over their heads, rushed the gathering and demanded money and jewelry from them at gunpoint.

One of the people in the group made a sudden move, and the gunmen opened fire on the gathering. 19-year-old Kenneth Roberts was struck by four bullets and died at the scene. Jearmain Finch was left paralyzed by the gunfire. A third man, Walter Williams, was grazed by a bullet in his lower back.
Harris was also wounded by gunfire when he accidentally shot himself in the leg while putting his gun back in his waistband. The two other defendants dropped Harris off at a hospital and left the scene.
