Two Arrested After Macy's Shopping Spree Using Stolen Credit Cards

Here's how Atlanta police apprehended two suspects who were racking up a massive debt on a woman's stolen credit card.

ATLANTA, GA -- Here's a great story how Atlanta police tracked down a couple of alleged thieves who were racking up thousands of dollars on a woman's stolen credit card, after they had reportedly smashed her car widow and took several other items.

It all happened on shortly after 4 pm on April 4, when two people broke into Diane Dennis' SUV at Little Nancy Creek Park in Buckhead, while she was enjoying an outing with her kids.

According to the incident report, Dennis' purse was stolen, which included several debit and credit cards, her driver's license and her Macy's card.

As Dennis was speaking with police, American Express informed her via her cell phone that someone was using her American Express card at Macy's in Buckhead, and had made at least two transactions in the amount of more than $2,100.

Police immediately contacted a Macy's loss prevention officer, who helped police locate the suspects via surveillance video and store cash registers. Officers then arrived at Macy's within several minutes, and police arrested William Holley and Candice Canon, the latter of whom, according to police, had Dennis' purse and her credit cards.
