Uber's General Manager for Special Projects to Address BBA on Nov. 12

The man who oversees Uber Technologies’ special projects in Atlanta will address the Buckhead Business Association (BBA) on Nov. 12.

Peter Hsu, Uber’s general manager for special projects, will address the business organization during its breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 12 at the City Club of Buckhead.

In Atlanta, Hsu oversaw the September rollout of UberEATS. The on-demand food delivery service, which first launched in Downtown and Midtown, but quickly expanded to Buckhead, allows users to order lunch from a curated daily menu; the company says items will be delivered in 10 minutes or less.

“Uber has already changed the way Atlantans travel, and now it is changing the way the residents interact with businesses such as restaurants,” said Smita Solanki, executive director of the BBA. “Peter’s appearance in November will provide a unique look into what Uber has in store not just here in Atlanta, but nationwide in the coming weeks, months and years.”

Hsu will be the second Uber representative to appear before the BBA this year. Keith Radford, Uber’s general manager for the Atlanta market, spoke to the BBA in May and exclusively discussed the company’s goal to be more than a taxi service.

“We’re not just a service where you’re in a car going from point A to point B. We’re trying to do everything,” the Northside Neighbor quoted Radford as saying in May. “No idea is a bad idea. As long as it’s to grow the company and is based on numbers and logic, we’ll do it. If we see a need for this, we’ll do it.”

The business organization holds breakfast meetings at 7:30 a.m. most Thursday mornings at the City Club of Buckhead. Meetings feature a business, political or civic leader as a speaker, and topics usually include leading issues within the Buckhead community and Atlanta as a whole. Tickets for members are $10 in advance and $12 at the door; non-member tickets are $20.
