Water Main Break Cancels Classes at Buckhead School

The break occurred sometime Sunday, and students were left without water for the entire day on Monday.

ATLANTA, GA -- After about 2,000 students went without water at North Atlanta High School on Monday, the school cancelled classes on Tuesday while it works to repair a water main break.

Students told WSB-TV the smell from the water main break was nauseating and unbearable. The water main break itself happened sometime on Sunday.

Bottles of water were brought in on Monday and students were given sack lunches.

Atlanta Public Schools released the following statement: β€œOur operations staff is making the necessary accommodations for the students and staff, including providing drinking water, bag lunches and adequate water for flushing to minimize disruptions to learning and instruction … Our team is working aggressively to resume normal operations on Tuesday.”
