Weight Loss Goals

Reach your weight loss goal in 2017, New Year;s Resolutions

Most people have tried to lose weight in some form in their lives. Past experiences are usually in the form of a quick weight loss program, diet fad (think of the cabbage soup diet), joining a gym only ending up not going 3 months in, or trying some sort of supplement or pill. These kinds of dieting are typical and most people will have gained the weight back within a year. I propose that we quit using the word diet first of all. It makes it sound like you are depriving yourself of something, the most basic thing...FOOD. Instead we should use the term healthy living, healthy lifestyle or something of that nature. It is a more positive term. Healthy living and eating doesn't have to be depriving. It can be switching things around, finding your weaknesses and triggers and setting better goals. But how do you go about doing this? Doing it alone can be hard, maybe you don't know where to start, or once you start you don't understand how to continue on sewith the process or get frustrated. That is when you need to call the professional. The one who knows how the process should go, knows where to start, when to change things up, where to go if you get off track and acts as your accountability. This is where I would come in. I am an ACE Certified Health Coach and have experience with the weight loss centers I have mentioned above. I know exactly why those "diets" do not work. They do not work because they do not get to the root of the problem. What past experiences have you tried and why didn't they work? What are your triggers that cause you to eat unhealthy food or too much food? What are your goals and are they attainable and realistic? Are you ready to undergo a change? These are some of the questions I ask as a health coach. Dealing with the psychological part will help us when we are working together to incorporate fitness, food diaries, meal planning, and stress relief into your life.
