Westminster Plays Second Florida Foe

Friday night goes against its second straight Florida opponent, the private Providence School of Jacksonville.

The Wildcats hope for better luck than last week, when they were swamped 34-6 by Baker County, Fla., in a day game played in 98-degree heat at Carrollton.

Westminster, 0-2 this year, is led by quarterback Danny Catan, who threw for 70 yards last week, completing 10 out of 17. Shelton Collier gave Westminster a spark of glory late in the game, taking an interception back 100 yards for a touchdown. Receiver Parker Tuthill had three catches for 15 yards, and Greg Notermann, two for 35.

The Providence Stallions are another tough challenge for the Wildcats, who opened their season with a tough loss to St. Pius. District and region runner-up last year, they opeed the season last week with a 16-14 win over Raines.
