The Westminster Schools Names New Head of Upper School
The Westminster Schools has named Cindy L. Trask as the new Head of the Upper School.
The Westminster Schools has named Cindy L. Trask, the Director of Studies and Director of Middle School at Columbus School for Girls in Columbus, Ohio, as the new Head of the Upper School. Trask will assume her new role in July 2016, and will succeed Interim Upper School Head Jim Justice, who has led the division since the departure of Ross Peters in July 2015.
“We are excited to welcome Cindy Trask to Westminster and look forward to her leadership in this new chapter for the Upper School,” said Keith Evans, president of The Westminster Schools. “She is a distinguished teacher and academic leader who brings a breadth of experience to us. As important, she immediately connected with our community and is devoted to our mission of developing the next generation of servant leaders for our world.”
In her new position, Trask will oversee the dynamic Upper School community of approximately 840 students and 110 faculty members, propelling the growth and evolution of the school by embracing Westminster’s school-wide vision through curriculum development and other strategic initiatives.

“I simply could not be more thrilled to join Westminster, and am inspired by the wonderful curriculum and scholastic foundation that is already in place in the Upper School,” said Trask. “The talented students and faculty here, coupled with the amazing resources and support of this School, will unlock endless possibilities for how we can continue to best prepare these students to serve as leaders with a conscience.”
Trask joined Columbus School for Girls in 2013. Throughout her career, she has also worked at St. Catherine’s School (Richmond, Va.), Collegiate School (Richmond, Va.), and St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, Vt.). Trask holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and mathematics from Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia), a Bachelor of Education in secondary science from St. Mary’s University (Halifax, Nova Scotia), and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Richmond in Virginia.
