Westminster Seventh Graders Undefeated for Year

High-scoring powerhouse scores big victories over Woodward, St. Pius

seventh grade football team finished the season with a 6-0 record, defeating all opponents by at least 16 points.

The Wildcats averaged 33 points a game, scoring at least 30 in each one. The two biggest wins of the season came agaiinst Woodward and St. Pius. In their 30-14 win over Woodward, Westminster stepped up as the only opponent to score more than one touchdown against the War Eagles. St. Pius was undefeated before Westminter's 30-8 win, and that was the most points the Golden Lions gave up all year, according to school news release.

β€œIt certainly felt good to see our boys play that well against the two other top teams in the league,” said Westminster head coach Chuck Breithaupt.Β  β€œTo play two undefeated teams back-to-back like that is tough.Β  I was really proud of our players and the focus they brought to those games.”

Tailback Ian Ude led the team with 18 touchdowns in six games played. Signal caller Charlie Bennett found success through the air with passes to leading receiver Mikael Sampson when he was not handing the ball off to Ude.

Kyle Desnoyer and Nicolas Roberts dominated line play on both sides of the ball, and Cortez Alston delivered bone-crushing tackles on defense.
