📰 Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:
- Who's the lady looking in windows and jiggling door handles? "The woman has been caught on dozens of cameras over the past two weekends." As of Tuesday, she seems to focus her attention on Buckhead neighborhood homes, and some residents reported that "she's showed up in people's living rooms" while they were home. Reportedly, the unknown woman drives "a dark blue RAV4 with the tag covered." So far, police have not been able to connect with her. (Fox)
- Flooding and downed trees are par for the course after the recent weather. On Woodward Way, homeowners saw Peachtree Creek overflow, with water creeping up the driveway and yard. Trees went down "from Brookhaven to West Wesley in Buckhead." (11 Alive)
- HUB404, which refers to the "nine-acre 'cap park' atop GA 400," will receive $750,000, courtesy of the federal spending bill signed by President Joe Biden last year. We learned on Tuesday that Congresswoman Nikema Williams pushed for these funds to be included in the legislation. "This is a significant step toward building HUB404, which will provide safe walkways, green spaces and easier access to MARTA for residents and visitors," the executive director of the Buckhead Community Improvement District explained. (Buckhead Community Improvement District)
- There's scuttlebutt that Yeppa&co will open in January at 306 Buckhead Avenue. Guests can look forward to cured meats and yummy cheeses. This eatery will take over the space previously inhabited by the Biltong Bar in the Buckhead Village. "Named for a verbal exclamation expressing joy and excitement, expect dishes influenced by the coastal city of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy along the Adriatic Sea." (Atlanta Eater)
