Wieuca Road Sidewalk to Be Completed
Work to begin in late October, with December finish expected
The Wieuca Road sidewalk from to Mountain Way will be completed by mid-December, the city Department of Public Works announced.
The work on the long-awaited project will begin in late October, according to an e-mail to District 7 Councilman Howard Shook from Danita Ogandaga, public informtion manager for captital projects for the Public Works Department.
Completion of the sidewalk had been expected since the Sarah Smith Intermediate Campus opened in January 2010.

The sidewalk from Mountain Way would connect with a sidewalk that has been in place in front of the school since it was constructed. Another section of sidewalk has been completed on the other side of Mountain Way.
"The project will include the installation of sidewalks, curbing, rubble wall
installation, and ADA compliant handicapped ramps," Ogandaga's e-mail said, adding that the work is scheduled to be completed within 60 days. She said construction would take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
