Woman Climbs Tree at Buckhead Condo To Save It From Being Cut Down

ATLANTA, GA -- A woman climbed a tree in the Cross Creek condominium complex to prevent Georgia Power from cutting it down.

Jenifer Firestone climbed the tree on Thursday and remained there until tree removal team left, reports the AJC.

Goergia Power says the construction work is part of a northwest Atlanta infrastructure project, and that it is trying to minimize the environmental impact on the community.

But Firestone and other residents are questioning the need to remove many of the giant, longstanding trees in the community.

Firestone used a ladder to climb the oak tree, which is near her Cross Creek residence.
