Woman Killed Outside Buckhead Bar Was State Senator's Sister

ATLANTA, GA — A woman who was shot to death outside Buckhead's Anchor Down Bar & Grille early Saturday morning is the sister of a Minnesota state senator.

Police say Taylor Hayden, 25, was caught in the crossfire between two groups of men who began shooting at each other around 5 am.

The woman is the sister of State Sen. Jeff Hayden of St. Paul, MN, according to KTSP. Jeff Hayden is the deputy senate minority leader in the Minnesota legislature.

Police responded to a person shot call at the Piedmont Road establishment around 5 am, where they found a black female shot in the arm and side. She was taken to Grady Hospital where she died.

Police say witnesses told them there were two groups of males shooting at one another in the parking lot and the female was shot during this exchange of gunfire.
