Woman Struck by MARTA Bus Dies

An Atlanta teenager has succumbed to injuries she received when she was struck by a MARTA bus on Wednesday night, WSB-TV reports.

Brenda Travis, 19, was allegedly crossing against the light near the intersection of Lee Street and Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. Police told the station that investigators have determined the woman was wearing headphones at the time she was hit.

Travis was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but died on Saturday. The Medical Examiner’s office released Travis’ identity on Sunday.

A witness told WSB-TV that she saw the bus strike the victim in the head as she ran out into the street.
