• Worker killed in incident at Global Industrial facility identified (fox5atlanta.com) — A 56-year-old worker died after being pinned between a loading ramp and a truck at the Global Industrial warehouse on Mill Center Parkway in Buford on Sept. 9. Co-workers freed him and tried to help, but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Gwinnett police say security video shows no foul play, and the medical examiner and company are still investigating what went wrong.
   

• Kirby Smart provides injury update for freshman playmaker Tyriq Green (onlineathens.com) — A former Buford High standout, freshman safety Tyriq Green, is questionable for Georgia's SEC opener at Arkansas after injuring his right leg late in the Western Kentucky game. Green, a top-150 national recruit, played a team-high 42 defensive snaps and scored twice, including a 91-yard kickoff return, before getting hurt. Coaches expect more clarity on his status later this week.
