$1,400 Stolen From Cars In Bartow County: Cops
The cash was taken during two separate entering auto incidents, according to Bartow County Sheriff's Office reports.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Bartow County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating two separate incidents in which $1,400 in cash was taken from vehicles late last week.
The first report of an entering auto was made around 10:35 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at a home in the 3400 block of U.S. 411 in White. According to an incident report, the man said someone entered his 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7 and took $750 in cash.
The resident said that since he had been working out of town, "he is unsure of the exact date the theft occurred and also the reason for not making a report sooner," the report adds. He also said the truck was left unlocked and parked in the driveway of the home.

On Saturday, Aug. 25 around 5:43 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to another call of an entering auto in the 1000 block of Burnt Hickory Road in Cartersville. The deputy met with a woman, who said she was at the location to attend a wedding and her car was parked in the yard.

The woman told the deputy she decided to place her purse in her trunk. She said she thought she locked the doors to her 2008 Chrysler Sebring, "but it is apparent she didn't because the only way to access the trunk without a key is a latch inside the passenger compartment," the report adds.
She notes someone opened the trunk, rummaged through her purse and took $650 in cash from her wallet. That money, the woman said, was her rent money and that the suspect only left her with $20. More than 50 people were in attendance, and all the vehicles were parked in the yard.
No suspects were identified in the thefts, and anyone with information is asked to call the Bartow County Sheriff's Office at 770-382-5050.
