Cartersville Teen Killed When Car Crashes Into House
The vehicle also hit the gas meter, causing a gas leak at the Cartersville residence.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A 16-year-old Cartersville boy was killed Friday morning in a single vehicle accident in Bartow County.
The Georgia State Patrol was dispatched to the scene on Old Grassdale Road around 8:25 a.m. Aug. 19. Initial reports indicate a 2005 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound when the driver "lost control of the car, ran off the roadway and struck a house," spokesperson Tracey Watson said.
The passenger vehicle, Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran added, also struck the gas meter at the home, which resulted in a gas leak at the scene.

Watson added there were three juvenile occupants inside the car, and the front seat passenger, identified as 16-year-old Christian Austin, was killed in the collision.
The 16-year-old male driver and back seat passenger, 15-year-old Christopher Cunningham of Cartersville, were injured and transported to Cartersville Medical Center.

The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow-up investigation and charges are pending.
