$1 Million Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Cartersville

Cartersville, GA -- A winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold over the weekend in Cartersville.

Texaco Food Mart at 401 West Avenue sold a ticket that matched the first five winning numbers from the Saturday, Feb. 20 drawing.

Two additional lucky tickets worth $50,000 were sold in Port Wentworth and Savannah from the drawing. Winning numbers from the drawing were: 11-12-15-16-54 and the Powerball was 25.

A winner has not yet come forward to claim the $1 million prize. Powerball winners in Georgia have 180 days from the drawing date on the ticket to claim a prize.

Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $236 million to a single annuity winner. The Powerball jackpot began rolling Jan. 16 and has rolled 12 times.

Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $236 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $156.3 million.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play. As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
