1,100 Tickets Sold for New 'Harry Potter' Movie

If you're planning to catch the new Harry Potter when it opens, there's good news — the movie theater in Cartersville still has plenty of tickets.

Around 1 p.m., a Carmike Cinemas representative said the local theater had sold about 1,100 tickets for early-morning showings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, but a total of 4,100 tickets were available.

The theater has 2-D showings set for 12:01, 12:02 and 12:03 a.m. Friday and the 3-D version goes on at 12:01 and 12:02 a.m., but the representative said officials would open all 12 screens for the popular film if needed.

It's also featuring a special presentation of Part 1 of the seventh Harry Potter Movie at 9 p.m.
