17th Annual Feed The Community Dinner Returns Nov. 18

New Frontier of Bartow County is seeking volunteers to help with its annual initiative that gives back to less fortunate residents.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- New Frontier of Bartow County is gearing up to host its 17th Annual Feed The Community Dinner later this month. This year's dinner, which will be held in honor of Michael Dean, is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at Cartersville Civic Center.

The initiative seeks to bring the community together, and includes a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and other services, including blood pressure checks, HIV testing, free clothing, toys and haircuts for less fortunate residents.

Representatives from Goodwill of North Georgia will also be on hand to discuss free job training programs and certifications. The dinner is open to everyone in the community, including senior citizens, shelter residents, economically disadvantaged families, veterans, or those just wishing to fellowship with their neighbor.

As always, New Frontier is seeking the help of those in the community who want to volunteer their time to this worthy cause. If you or your organization would like to volunteer. contact William Solomon at (404) 625-3880. Volunteer opportunities include serving of the food, helping with the clothing closet, parking lot attendants, and clean up. This is a great opportunity for high school students in need of volunteer service hours.

Free transportation is being provided by Bartow Transit to and from the event. To schedule a pickup call (770) 387-5165 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Every year our goal is to serve around 2,000 people, therefore letting no one leave hungry. In order to accomplish this worthwhile cause, we are asking for your help financially. Companies and individuals wishing to donate can make a contribution online through our website at thenewfrontierinc.org. Donations can also be sent via mail to New Frontier of Bartow County at P.O. Box 1891, Cartersville, GA 30120.

Donations of clothing, toys, and children's books are also being accepted. You can drop off donations at Crye-Leike Realtors at 477 East Main Street in Cartersville from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through Nov. 16.
