The spill occurred around midnight Wednesday on the ramp from Red Top Mountain Road. The ramp has since reopened to vehicular traffic.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Georgia DOT crews have reopened the southbound entrance ramp onto Interstate 75 from Red Top Mountain Road in Bartow County after a tar spilled closed the area overnight Wednesday.

Motorists were advised to use the entrance ramp at State Route113/Main Street/Exit 288 to access the southbound lanes of I-75 while crews worked throughout the morning to clean up the sticky stuff.

"Although some cleaning work remains to be done, this work is limited to the shoulders and right of way and does not interfere with traffic," Arafa added.
