2 Convicted in Parking Lot Shooting Death

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Two defendants on trial for shooting and killing a Bartow County man in 2015 have been convicted for their part in the crime.

A Bartow County jury on Monday found Arrick Deandre Camps and Bernard Mario Dixon guilty of felony murder in the death of Robert Ashley Carr.

The jury returned their verdict around 9:45 a.m. April 4, the office of Bartow County District Attorney Office Rosemary Greene said.

Bartow sheriff’s deputies and investigators were dispatched around 6:45 a.m. April 7, 2015, to 11 Johnson Lane NE/1595 U.S. 411 — Woodright Industries — in reference to a man found lying in the parking lot.

Carr, 36 of White was unresponsive upon discovery and was pronounced dead. The incident was later determined to be a homicide, as Carr’s body had several gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said.

Along with Camps and Dixon, three additional residents were charged in connection to the shooting. Rebecca Leeann Dover was also arrested and charged with felony murder while Stephanie Fawn Gardner, 34, of Cartersville and Elizabeth Morgan Kelley, 24, of Acworth face one count each of party to the crime of felony murder.
