Fluor touts itself as a "global engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and maintenance company that designs, builds and maintains capital-efficient facilities" for clients on six continents, its website notes.

According to Georgia Power's website, Plant Bowen has four units of the coal-fired power plant that have the ability of producing 3,376 megawatts of electricity, and can supply enough energy to power over 1.9 million homes annually.

The plant, which has about 400 employees, is also home to the Water Research Center, the nation's first research facility dedicated to "finding new ways to reduce, conserve and improve the quality of water used by power plants to generate electricity," the company adds.
