2-Vehicle Crash Sends Elderly Man To Hospital
The collision was reported just after noon Sunday on U.S. 41 south of Grassdale Road in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A motorist was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital early Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on a major thoroughfare in Bartow County.
Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded around 12:21 p.m. Feb. 19 to the collision on U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway at Oak Hill Circle, which sits south of Grassdale Road in Cartersville.
First responders arrived on the scene to find an elderly man "still in the vehicle with an altered level of consciousness," said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

The man was checked over and EMS crews requested a helicopter to transport the patient to a level one trauma center.
The motorist was removed from the vehicle, and a more thorough assessment revealed that he was also suffering from various trauma injuries, Cothran said.
