3 Simple Ways to Stay Cool This Summer

We all know how hot and humid it can get here in Cartersville, and every homeowner needs to know how to stay cool. We wanted to help out our community by putting together a quick list of some of a few easy things that you can do to stay cool.

Start the Waterworks

A great way to stay cool during the summer is to use water. Even though the air might be hot, the water that comes into your home will likely be cold. There are a number of different ways that you can do this.

  • Take a cold shower or bath – Even if you don’t have a pool, you can still fill up your tub or take a cold shower to lower your body temperature. Also, if you don’t use a towel when you get out - you can likely extend the cooling effect as the water on your body evaporates in the heat.
  • Sprinklers and inflatable pools – If you have the space, you can always fill up and inflatable pool and relax with a cold drink. Also, if you have kids a great summer activity is to turn on the sprinklers to create an instant downpour. There are attachments that fit on the end of a garden hose that can produce fun sprinkler effects as well.
  • Stay hydrated – Make sure that you drink lots of water during the heat. Your body can sweat a lot when it’s hot and it needs to replenish those fluids. Drinking iced beverages is another great way to lower your internal temperature and stay cool.
Or Take the Easy Way Out  - Let Someone Else Foot Your AC Bill

If you want to get out of the house and give your AC system a break, you can head out to the movies or to the local mall and enjoy their air conditioning. There are some awesome films coming out this summer and there are usually Groupons or other coupons that you can find to make the movies more affordable. Remember to turn down your AC when you leave the house!
